The End Is Near

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the end of the Rocking-Byrd and Rocking--Byrd blogs.

The ever-dropping amount of visitors, downloads and comments leave me no choice, as I just can't go on putting so much time and energy for just a handful of people. I feel sorry for the regulars, but so be it.

Two more concerts will be uploaded, on Mondays December 20 and 27, 2010.

No new post in 2011.

The blogs will stay up until January 30, 2011, so hurry up if there's something you want to download.

If you come across dead or broken links, please let me know so I can re-upload the files and update the links (that is, until January 30, 2011).

The blogs will be taken down on February 1, 2011.

Many thanks to all those who have supported the blogs during all these years.

A real shame, but I guess I could see it coming after the prolonged absence last year. I understand your reasons for dropping the blog and just want to say Thank You! for providing so many hours of listening pleasure. You will be missed.

Perhaps you will consider some sort of trading-tree ala the old Grateful dead Trading trees. Blogs are becoming abundant on the net, but this was the first one that I found interesting and useful and I will miss it greatly. Ok, so now maybe you'll release that 1965 live show....lol.

So very sorry to hear about the end of this blog. It is my first stop each day and the source of so much great Byrd pleasure.
Will look fwd to your last two postings and can only wonder what other gems you still might have in your extensive Byrds library.
Regardless, you take care Rockingbird and only the best for you and yours this Christmas and in the New Year 2011!
Know that you served this small buy loyal Byrds' fanbase admirably and awesomely.

I've left a comment on this elsewhere but just so as its not missed, please may I add my sincere thanks and gratitude for this fantastic blog. Not only has the music brought me a tremendous amount of pleasure but I've gained such a lot of new information about Gene Clark and his wonderful talent. Thank you so much and very best wishes for whatever new ventures you are planning.

Sorry to read you are closing the blog. In addition to quite a number of shows new to me it's also been extremely useful saving me much time transferring taped copies of the shows to CDR / PC.

Very sorry to see this blog come to an end, but fully understandable. I've been away for some time due to press of business and then loads of computer problems, so havent' checked in here until past few days. I guess like many just came to take your blog for granted--figured it would always be here. Loads of great music, a real goldmine. Thanks for all of it, thanks for always responding to requests and thanks so much for sharing!!

I did find two links broken for shows I'd love to obtain before you go--the Gram Parsons (Byrds, Burritos & Fallen Angels) from August and the Gene Clark show from Columbus OH (also posted in August). Would most appreciate a final couple of re-ups on those.

Again, thanks so much for all your labors over past few years. I don't recall how I discovered your blog, but it has been a constant for me since then. Thanks!
