The Country Boys (later known as The Kentucky Colonels) - Practice / rehearsal session

The Country Boys (later known as The Kentucky Colonels) - Practice / rehearsal session

Leroy “Mack” McNees' parents home - Los Angeles area, California - circa 1959-1960

One of the earliest recordings of Clarence White, recorded when he was 15 or 16 years old. This was the family bluegrass band that his brother Roland had started a few years earlier and that later became The Kentucky Colonels. This also circulates as being from 1962, but that is incorrect. The circulating copy on another blog is paired with another Country Boys rehearsal (which IS from late 1961 or early 1962). This lineup only existed until 1961, when Eric White left the band.
