I know very little about the Desert Rose Band except that Chris Hillman was in it, I don't live in North America and country music is virtually unknown here. So I was interested in checking out this radio concert. I'm not a great fan of country music or bluegrass, but I was pleasantly surprised by this concert. The musicianship is excellent all around, from the vocals to the instruments to the choice of songs. Some of the tunes here sound like what Chris was doing in Like A Hurricane, which I have, and that's a big plus as I like that record quite a lot. The lead singing is confident and expressive, and the harmonies tight--country rock at its best. The only irritating thing is the commercials, but I can eliminate those with Audacity! Thanks for the upload, R--B, I'll keep an eye out for other DRB uploads.

Hi Rocking Byrd, Happy New Year ! Thanks for this one.I think its the same gig as ROSES AT THE RITZ a boot I bought years ago ,yet it does sound different and has the commercials. Chris Hillman got commercial success which he deserved with DRB,they did some great performances, but I always thought them much more mainstream country than the more edgy and groundbreaking Flying Burriti Bros. Thanks again!

Kevin, Roses At The Ritz was made out of 2 different concerts; supposedly this one is one concert only.
