This time, with pictures of the right line up!

The labels are pictures of hands and fingers; no words whatsoever.

There are many releases of this famous performance. What you have here on this double LP is the original way it was first made available.

Track B3 is mistitled “Tulsa Country Blues” on the back cover.

Track B4 (Mr. Spaceman) isn’t listed on the back cover.

Track C3 is simply titled “My Back Pages” on the back cover.

Tracks D1 and D2: the short speed changes in “Eight Miles High” and “I Shall Be Released” are as they are on the vinyl.

Tracks D4 (Wheels On Fire) and D5 (Hold It) aren’t listed on the back cover.

Long Black Veil, Get Out Of My Life Woman, Sing Me Back Home, Take A City Bride and I Shall Be Released never appeared on official Byrds LPs.

Strangely, bass player John York, the new comer, was allowed to take lead vocals on 3 songs (Long Black Veil, Tulsa County, I Shall Be Released).

Gene Parsons sings lead on Take A City Bride.

All other lead vocals are by Roger McGuinn.

One of the best later Byrds concerts. York worked fine as an alternative soloist, as did Gene Parsons. I saw this version in 1969, and they played and sang very well. Loved the earlier version of Jesus is Just Alright. Too bad this version didn't last long, York fit in better than Battin, although both were excellent bassists.
