A very spirited concert with a good Byrds setlist plus four songs from his first two solo albums. Roger is in good form here, with little wasted time between songs and fine performances of the group's most popular songs. You have to admire a man who can do Eight Miles High on an electric 12-string without any other instruments to support him. The sound is excellent and the audience, which seems to be small, very appreciative, as it should be. One of my gripes about the later Byrds was that McGuinn did most of the leads, despite the fact that Gene Parsons had a very nice voice and the band was quite capable of group harmonies. The Byrds needed another lead singer, but neither Skip Battin nor Clarence White were enough. But as a solo act, McGuinn was fine indeed, and although I have never seen him as a solo act, the reviews are always positive, as far as I know. This is a nice concert to listen to, very agile and compact, despite the 18 songs. Thanks for the upload.
