Hi Rocking Byrd, and a big thank you for this one. I don't quite know where to begin with this one. It gives a real insight in to how they created songs or tracks. I've always thought that they missed the mark with this one which in my humble opinion turned out to be a lightweight attempt at a 'pop' song which didn't really work for me because of the tempo and backing track This is much more interesting with more meaningful lyrics which didn't make the final track. It cries out for Gene's expressive vocal and a different instrumentation and tempo. It could have been a great song . I much prefer a large sections of this to the previously known version. I've played it three times now maybe an edit would give more of Gene's contribution? Please keep these tracks coming, I'm loving them
Good Day ,I haven't been able access to your blog Since Easter .Are you alright ? Hope you are doing well .Google says I wasn't invited to your blog.. because I wasn't invited..... I hope that can be changed... sometimes your site gives me background information
I actually like this song, commercial or not. But the musicians seem to be messing around, and I don't see a very disciplined approach to improving the song. Nonetheless, the recorded versions I've heard of this song sound quite professional, so I guess my interpretation of a 15-minute session isn't necessarily fair. I like these practices that have been uploaded and am waiting for more. They're not for the casual listener, obviously. But for Gene Clark admirers like myself they're insightful.
