If you like alt-country and country rock this is a fine recording. The band is really tight and the harmonies as well. I'm not crazy about all the songs, but it's more a matter of personal preference than a criticism of the music itself. Chris obviously seems more comfortable in the country genre, and Herb Pederson makes a perfect harmony partner. Nonetheless, Chris did some interesting things when he was in the Byrds, especially in Younger Than Yesterday and Notorious Byrd Brothers, before he veered off into country music. His later rock output was OK but not particularly groundbreaking. This upload is a fine recording of his Desert Rose Band, which to me is far superior to the Flying Burrito Brothers, especially live. It's always interesting to see what the Byrds did after they left the Byrds, so thanks for this.
