I've always felt Gram Parsons was overrated as a musician. Despite all his pretensions of Cosmic American Music he was still mostly a rather traditional country singer, and not always a good one at that. He died too young to make a real difference and today he is barely remembered. Still, he wrote some nice songs during his short career, and that is the main reason I downloaded this concert. And it is a pleasant bit of listening. The band is good, and the addition of Emmylou Harris as harmony singer was a happy choice. Their voices sound good together and enhance the songs' emotional impact. I can only listen to country music once in awhile, but despite my reservations about the artist, these two sets will satisfy anyone who likes Gram Parsons or country music in general, cosmic or not. Thanks to both Dave and RB for all these little gems. Presumably, we're near the end of this round of uploads, but they've been much appreciated by this fan at least.
