Imagine you are now in Pat Robinson’s Silvery Moon recording studio, sitting in the boot and, in front of you, Gene and Pat are working on a new song…
Now let the tape start rolling and hit that “record” button…

Produced by Terry Melcher
Recorded in 1965 - 1966
This band released one single only in 1966 while in existence: “Candy Man” backed with “The Devil’s Got My Woman”. But they recorded many other tracks (produced by Terry Melcher) for an LP that remained unreleased. Some of these other tracks were officially released in 1992 on CD (Columbia / Legacy CK 52828 – 22 tracks), and on vinyl in 2001 (Sundazed LP5054 – 12 tracks). But an 18 track unofficial CD was released earlier (ISRAPHON ISR 009 CD – year unknown), and even earlier, tracks were first released on a bootleg LP (Groucho Records MAR-X 38501 – 17 tracks mentioned on back cover but only 16 tracks on vinyl itself). What you have here is a fresh vinyl rip of the latter, my Groucho Records LP.
When the bootleggers laid their hands on the tape, the song titles were unknown so they guessed them. Many are wrong on the LP rear cover. Here are the song titles mentioned on the rear cover, followed by actual song titles as they appeared on the official Columbia CD:
A1 Diving Duck Blues = If The River Was Whiskey (Divin’ Duck Blues)
A2 Untitled = Spanish Lace Blues
A3 Got My 44 = .44 Blues
A4 Sorry To Tell You = Flyin’ So High
A5 Down To Mexico = Tulsa County
A6 Sorry To Tell You (reprise) = Flyin’ So High (reprise)
A7 Step Outside You Mind = Take A Giant Step
A8 Untitled = 2:10 Train
B1 She Don’t Love Me No More = 11th Street Overcrossing
B2 32-30 (I Got A Little) = I Got A Little
B3 By And By = By And By (Poor Me)
B4 Sunny Street = Sunny’s Dream
B5 Walkin’ Down The Line = correct title!
B6 Candy Man = correct title!
B7 Devil Got My Woman = The Devil’s Got My Woman
B8 Corrina = Corrin, Corrina
B9 Sorry To Tell You = Flyin’ So High = MENTIONED ON REAR COVER BUT NOT PRESENT ON ACTUAL VINYL
Actual Track Listing with lengths:
1. A1 Diving
Duck Blues (2:37)
2. A2 Untitled (2:11)

Still pausing but this one is a request:
Roger McGuinn’s Thunderbyrd – Rockpalast Festival 1977
Grugahalle, Essen, Germany (July 24th, 1977)
Roger McGuinn (guitar, vocals)
Rick Vito (guitar, vocals)
Charlie Harrison (bass)
Greg Thomas (drums)
Sam Clayton (from Little Feat) (percussion on tracks 9 to 15)
What you have here is the complete performance, as recorded by me after hooking my reel-to-reel tape recorder to my TV set in 1977, later burned to a CDR with my stand-alone CD recorder and even later ripped and saved to my computer.
It was later released on DVD and CD on the German Bear Family label. Track 11 was wrongly titled “Shoot Him” instead of “Shoot ‘em” on these latter releases.
I made artwork for my CDR (included). Later, I had my artwork signed by Rick Vito and Charlie Harrison after a Rick Vito concert while having a (long) drink with them and drummer Rick Reed.
Funnily, the illustrating picture of Charlie Harrison on his Discogs page, although not uploaded by me, is one I took; he’s showing my artwork that he had just signed:
https://www.discogs.com/fr/artist/563258-Charlie-Harrison
Incredibly, the same picture is used to illustrate Charlie Harrison’s page on the official Poco website:
https://pocoband.com/scrapbook/the-band/previous-members/charlie-harrison
Charlie Harrison was the bass player for Poco from 1978 to 1984 and as such appears on 6 LPs.
As to Rick Vito and Greg Thomas, googling their names will show you their incredibly prolific careers.
