Interesting program, but with a couple of caveats. It seems that the producers were looking for familiar songs, and thus stuck with the safest hits--which is fine, but they could have included some Crosby and Hillman songs. Most attention went to the first four albums, which is also fine, but it seems they could have done more with Notorious Byrd Brothers and Sweetheart of the Rodeo. After all, a later Byrds song was included (Chestnut Mare) and not everyone considers them to be really the Byrds. My recording doesn't have some lead guitar parts--notably on Bells of Rhymney. No mention of Mike Clarke was made at all--I think his progress as a drummer was noteworthy. But the show is worth listening to anyway, and I appreciate your providing this for us, R--B. So thanks.
