Thank you once again,R.B, for the great variety of Byrd related gigs. This is a fine example of Mcguinn's touring repetoire. In 2011 I saw him in Leeds and took a friend who had never seen or heard these gigs.He enjoyed it and especially the stories. Roger does try to add new folk den songs but the drawback is in the repetition of the stories forced by the autobiography nature of this format of concert. He always ,however puts on a great show !A new album would be nice!.Thanks again and please keep the Gene Clark Pat Robinson tracks coming ! Look forward to them
Roger has been doing the same concert since 1995 or so. I'm now fed up with it and I didn't even go to the concert when he performed in a town located 20 miles from my home town. But that's probably because I went to too many concerts by him and I alos listened to too many downloaded concerts.
I have never been to a McGuinn solo concert as I don't live in the US, so I find there's more variety in this recording than in others, with even a few songs from his solo albums and some from the Folk Den. The stories are pretty much the same, however. He plays well and sings pretty well, and seems to connect well with the crowd, so I guess that's all that really matters to most who go to his concerts. Oh, and to hear old Byrds songs and the Rick. Thanks for the post RB.
Steve, I don't live in the USA, but I went to many McGuinn concerts in Europe: London, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Brussels, Bruges, Turnhout, Gent, Cologne, Peer, Antwerp...and more.
