The picture was drawn by respected Belgian pop artist Guy Peellaert who was also responsible for the cover art of Stones' It's only Rock'n'Roll and Bowie's Diamond Dogs. The source was his book 'Rock Dreams'. Try Google and find out!
PS Ok, the picture of the Byrds may not be his best...

Rocking--Byrd, I just want to say how nice the recent uploads have sounded. Whatever you're doing to the original source tapes/recordings, the results have been, in my opinion, outstanding. I'm listening to the Sheffield concert, and really, the sound quality is fantastic. I mean, this is over 40 years old! The '4 virgins' artwork for the most recent upload is a hoot--and the music is fine. Thanks for all the listening pleasure.
