Problem?

Please, anyone who has downloaded and listened to the Doelen 1971-05-14 concert, let me know if everything went OK. The statistics sent to me by the filehost shows ZERO downloads for this specific file so I'm wondering how reliable they are... Thank you.

Hi RB,

Everything went ok for me with the download and I have enjoyed listening to the show over the weekend. Thanks for sharing this rare show and all of the other gems. I continue to have my fingers and toes crossed that the source for the Fillmore East '68 show changes his mind and allows you repost the link. Be well. Peace.

wonder why they never recorded "She Belongs To Me"? Sure beats most of the swill on the last 2 Battin era lps.
Thanks again for posting this show, and all the work you put into the fine cover art. I second Rufus' hopes for the Fillmore show....

I just started to download it and besides the fact that it goes awfully slow, it seems like there should be no problem. I'll get back as soon as it's - hopefully - done. Thanks always RB

Thanks, Rocking--Byrd! No problems for me with the original link. As for the show, the recording is a bit distant, and therefore muddy sounding, but it is certainly listenable and of course noteworthy for the inclusion of "She Belongs To Me." In a barely related aside, I have a long out of print live Flying Burrito Brothers album called "Cabin Fever" on the Relix label which has this song on it. The group at the time (around the era of Gene Clark's Byrds tribute shows) was Sneaky Pete, Skip Battin, Greg Harris, and Jim Goodall. Skip does the lead vocal on this version.

"She Belongs To Me" has always been an all-time favorite song of Skip Battin, who performed it many many times during his long career. He used to introduce it by saying "the title of the song is not in the song's lyrics".
