very cool show; thanks! John York is so under appreciated. The Byrds would have been much better had he stayed and played a more intregal part in them.

David, I'm not so sure about York. He was a fine bass player, and not a bad lead singer, and when I saw him with the group around 1968 or so he seemed to fit in. But what songs did he write? Fido and Candy (along with McGuinn). Not much to recommend. What the latter Byrds needed was more songwriters, and Skip Battin, like him or not, wrote or co-wrote some 10 songs in 3 albums. I doubt York would have been as prolific had he stayed.
