I was listening to this recently, and I wanted to make a few of my own personal observations. This is a real nice performance, and a very good sounding one as well. I think that the year might actually be 1978 rather than 1979, though. The arrangements of some of the songs, particularly Gene Clark's, are noticeably different, and in my opinion, kind of better than what came out on the M, C & H album. Other shows have these songs performed closer to the album versions. Some of the between song patter also indicates that they had not made the album yet, and I believe by September 1979 it had come out already. I could be wrong, though. Also, it really doesn't sound like Johnne Sambataro is playing with them on this performance. Roger McGuinn's playing is quite evident here; his playing on the album was not so pronounced, as the suits wanted it to sound "contemporary." Sambataro's playing is blatantly obvious on other shows. It's nice hearing things this way, though, and things really do sound more Byrdsy. Just some thoughts, take them for what you will.... But DO give this show a listen, and thanks, Rocking--Byrd, for all the posts!

I would agree with you , Willie. This is 78, for sure. No Sambatareo and no disco arrangements. It's unfortunate Gene's guitar is missing from the mix. Much prefer these early arrangements to the latter ones.
