Wow! What a fine group! I wonder if he played with this band for other concerts, or just this one. Whatever the case, the audience certainly got its money's worth. Crosby is in top form here, dipping into the past (except for the Byrds) and the present, showing once again that he was, with Gene Clark, the most creative ex-Byrd. And indeed, he has recently released yet another new album. McGuinn's latter career has been more as a preserver--the Folk Den, his largely Byrds material in concert, while Crosby has continued to grow as a musician. There's room for both types. McGuinn had some great concerts with the Headlights, wile Crosby really shines in this concert with people I don't recognize. He even cedes the lead in two songs. Crosby may be a difficult character, but he certainly is a fine musician, despite all his personal idiosyncrasies and addictions. Thanks for a very professional and enjoyable concert, R--B.
