This duet replicates the original heart of the Byrds but with a lot more years of experience. While the production is bare-bones (two singers, the Ric, and an acoustic 6-string) the songs are all played well and sound quite nice. Crazy Ladies continues to be the surprise song--a Gene-Clark penned song with a jazz-like Richenbacher instrumental which shows McGuinn could still play the 5D style when he wanted to. The sound is unashamedly Byrds, which makes them sort of a nostalgia duet at this point. Later they would be joined by Chris Hillman and put out a very un-Byrds-like first album, with hardly any of the original sound left. I like the McGuinn-Clark concerts I've heard very much, very unpretentious and professional. Neither of them was a household word at that point, but they came through and did not disappoint anyone who attended their concerts. Thanks RB.
