McGuinn, Hillman & Stuart - Something Special Happening

Roger McGuinn And Chris Hillman with Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives

Sweetheart Of The Rodeo 50th Anniversary Tribute

December 2018

For these December last dates of the tour, the big surprise was that they played 2 Gene Clark songs at the end of the encores (“I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better” and “Eight Miles High”).

This is just those two songs, not the entire show which was very similar to three I already posted.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

A nice holiday gift! Considering how long it had been since Hillman and McGuinn played these songs together, they sound very good, if a little ragged. I wonder what the Byrds would have been like if they had pursued the jazzy playing they tried on 5D, YTY and NBB. If they had, it's unlikely they would have had this tour, though!

I was lucky enough to see SIX Sweetheart shows. Louisville, Akron, The Ryman, Clearwater on December 15th. Ponte Vedra Beach and the finale in Lauderdale. I was front row center for the finale and noticed that one of Marty's roadies captured the entire show from a Go Pro located maybe ten feet in front of the four mainstage mikes. I for one would pay some serious coin for those files...

Attended a show at the CMA HOF two nights ago. Marty Stuart Artist In Residency show. It closed with McGuinn, Hillman, Marty and the Superlatives with eight Byrds classics. I captured the entire two-hour-plus show. Decent audience tape. Front row. Mostly stage monitors. I have NO IDEA how to share this 130 MB file/event... Anyone care to help me? Thanks...
