Many many thanks for these. The debate on the use of the Byrds name is interesting because some people (NOT MYSELF) think that only the five originals constitute the Byrds. I think that all the post Sweetheart albums are legitimate Byrd albums with only McGuinn as original but with
Clarence,Gene John York and Skip all as legitimate Byrds and skilled musicians all adding to the Byrds story and reputation. If they now say that they are not the Byrds then so be it but Two original members is more than on the last above mentioned albums.Personally I'd be happy
to see a Byrds line up with Marty Stuart and even Gene Parsons as he has played with Marty, and of course David Crosby as he was on a lot of the first set tracks! At the end of the day they sound incredibly good and give a good account of the Sweetheart and parts of other albums.

There will be no new Byrds lineups--McGuinn is adamant about that. Just as well. This 'reunion' works because it's about one album with the only two original Byrds participating. I can't see David Crosby and Gene Parsons in the same lineup, or Gene Parsons ever playing with Roger McGuinn again. This was a special occasion, and they pull it off very well. As far as I'm concerned, this is it. The Byrds are gone.
