With Gene
Clark and Chris Hillman on tracks 9-10-11
Roger McGuinn’s Thunderbyrd, Gene Clark’s K.C.
Southern Band and The Chris Hillman Band embarked on a European tour in the
spring of 1977 (ill-fated, as Clark and Hillman quit the tour after a couple of
days, flying back to the USA and leaving McGuinn alone to finish the tour).
They played two nights at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. Both shows were
recorded by the BBC, and are the sources from which the “Three Byrds Land In
London” double CD from 1997 was compiled.
This is Thunderbyrd’s concert from April 30th
(including three Byrds tracks with Gene Clark and Chris Hillman), before the
recording was tampered with, first by the BBC before the broadcast, and later
for mixing the double CD.

As always, thank you so much for sharing this show with us. Do you (or any one else) know if the complete Gene Clark & Kansas City Southern Band and Chris Hillman Band performances at the Hammersmith Odeon, London were fully recorded and preserved?
would second Rufus's comments. Would love to get Gene Clark's sets from these shows.Again, many thanks for sharing and for all your hard work.
Super thanks
great sound! thanks rockinbyrd....
good sound
I have the single cd version of 3 Byrds Land in London, with one song from Gene Clark and two from Chris Hillman, and the rest with Roger McGuinn. In my version, Why Baby Why/Tiffany Queen replaces Shoot 'em, and It's Gone and Dixie Highway are not included, but otherwise the tracks are the same. 8 Miles High is beautifully played (Bonus track on my cd) but it seems to me that Chris does not participate, as I can't hear his voice anywhere. I've liked every Thunderbyrd concert I've heard; Rick Vito's guitar work is a highlight on every one. I hope there are more around! Thanks, R--B.
Could you please make this available again.
Thanks

Good McGuinn and band but Clark and Hillman did not sound very enthusiastic.
Thanks
