So far I haven't been able to download this concert--'temporarily unavailable' is what the website tells me. So all I can comment on is the playlist, Except for Car Phone from the Back From Rio album, it's all Byrds. In other words, this is a Byrds tribute band. McGuinn has written many nice songs in his solo career, and just had a fairly successful CD, yet he sticks with the tried and true. I've never heard of the Woofers and I don't recognize any of the names. I presume I'll be able to download this eventually and will comment on the band once I do. Has anyone else had any difficulties downloading recent concerts?
Excellent show! As good as it gets ... performance and sound-wise. I like the understated style... presumably because it was a one off pairing which probably explains the choice of the more widely known Byrds songs over McGuinn's solo material. Despite that, this group really does an excellent job of both supporting and enhancing Roger's singing and playing. Personally I think Roger performs best in a group and is at his best when he is in charge and has the right supporting musicians behind him.

No problems getting this fabulous show. Really crisp quality and a fantastic, energetic performance. The band sound tight and the set list is clearly a crowd pleaser. I've heard a lot of criticism recently of the classic rockers coming back out on tour simply to do a 'nostalgia' concert of all their old hits. Was it ever thus...and frankly, when it sounds this good, so what? Thanks for a great show, really lifted my spirits today.
Steve, I had the same problem in downloading files. I found my browser was looking at an old cache file. Just delete the cache file prior to downloading and you should be fine. Hope this helps.

MegaUpload servers are overloaded at certain times of the day, particularly when it's daytime in the USA. You better try again when it's night time in America.
Also, as David says, when MU comes up with the 'file currently unavailable' the first time you try it, your computer remembers it and searches for the same link when you re-try. Cleaning your PC cache is indeed the best thing to do when this happens.
Thanks - this is a gem and it's nice to see it made available. I recall when it first appeared on the trading circuit the story was that it was recorded at a private birthday party for one of the band and was then "leaked" out. This probably explains the Byrds set-list, rather than the Rio stuff Roger had been doing with the Headlights
Thanks for the information on downloading, In fact, I downloaded it my laptop last night, using Ubuntu, and am listening to it right now. and yes, it is enjoyable. The backup band is pretty good as well, especially that lead guitarist. The arrangements are, in general, close to the original versions, even down to the Don't Worry Baby guitar in Mr Tambourine Man. The harmony vocals are a little rough, but then again I don't know how long the Woofers had to learn all these songs, so we can forgive less-than-perfect vocals here. Whatever the reason for the heavy emphasis on Byrds songs (14 out of 15) it would have been nice to hear a few later McGuinn songs--I'm sure this band could have played them very well. In fact, at the beginning of 8 Miles High, it seems that they were going to play Your Love is a Gold Mine before they break into the familiar bass opening. Overall, an excellent upload--and thanks once again, R--B.

I had no trouble downloading this. I was really blown away by the quality of this live recording. Roger sounds and plays in great form here and I think The Woofers, whomever they are, are the perfect backup band! Does anyone know who these guys are? I agree with the comment about "old rockers"... if Crosby, Hillman and McGuinn came out as The Byrds and were able to produce this level of quality live, I would gladly pay to see them even if no new material was used! I can only hope McGuinn changes his mind about a one-off reunion tour and maybe we will see Byrds / Buffalo Springfield double bill in 2011. I can dream can't I?
