The Hillmen – The Chronological Classics 1964

At the time (1964) the first 17 tracks were recorded by The Hillmen, Don Parmley was asked to record an album of instrumental tracks. Parmley recruited The Hillmen (which he was a member of) and 3 studio musicians to record that album (tracks 18-30). It was released on Crescendo records [Don Parmley With Billy Strange - 5 String Banjo With 12 String Guitar  (Crescendo Records GNP 98) (1964)], while The Hillmen tracks had to wait 5 years before they were released [The Hillmen - The Hillmen (Together ST-T-1012) (1969)].
