---In 1981, Guilbeau and Beland took complete control over The Flying Burrito Brothers and shortened the band name to The Burrito Brothers. As such, they recorded several LPs and became a successful act again.

This situation lasted until 1985, when another lineup of The Flying Burrito Brothers gathered to open for Gene Clark’s “20th Anniversary Tribute To The Byrds” tours, while Guilbeau and Beland recruited other musicians and reverted to the original Flying Burrito Brothers name.---
